Dirt Cake

The bf was craving a childhood favorite this past week so I decided to whip up a batch for him!

 Pretty sure I haven't had dirt cake since I was 8, but it still was crazy good!

& because I am just an amazing girl, I decided to make a few mini cups for his younger brothers & sisters who range in age from 10-2 

So the kids will be enjoying these today sometime since it was kind of late when we brought these over last night.

Sex & the City 3??

While getting ready this morning for work I heard on Good Morning America that there is talk of a Sex & the City 3!!! Now this is very exciting, however, there is a small twist. This will not be a sequel, rather a prequel. Meaning, the movie will follow Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda & Samantha as teenagers and early twenty-somethings living in NYC.

So who will be playing our beloved favorites in their younger days you ask??

Well I think the choices they've picked could make for an amazing flick:

The movie is still in the "talking stages" and these actresses haven't officially been asked to fill the fabulous shoes of these ladies. None of the original cast members make an appearance in the film, but I still think it will be a movie I will want to go see!

Hull the berries {take out middle}, fill with no-bake cheesecake mix & top with crushed graham cracker. Chill in fridge for a few hrs.

Its hump day & I couldn't be happier! This week has been exhausting - mainly because its been extremely hot here for Wisconsin. Our temps are in the 80°-90°s with heat indexes making it feel like 110-115°! Crazy hot!

{one} what is your dream job? If you had asked me this a year ago I would have told you something completely different, but my dream job is actually what I'm doing now - property management. I'm a leasing consultant.

{two} how many best friends do you have? I have 3 best friends, we're the fierce foursome. I don't know where I'd be without these lovely ladies! 

  {three} what’s the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?Driving from Wisconsin to Arizona to do Route 66..I was 12 & an only child so it was boring as hell.
{four} if you had to do one single thing every day for the next year, what would it be?Work out because I've been trying to lose weight and get healthy!
{five} what’s one story your family always tells about you?There's a ton of stories, but probably the one when we were going to pick up a puppy from a breeder and there was a girl there holding the last one. Her dad said she could have the dog but he said she had to wait to see what her mom said. Well I walked over to the girl and asked if I could hold the puppy. She gave him to me and then I said "Well, both my parents are here & they said I could have it so we're going to take him." That was mean, but I wanted a puppy!
{six} how did your parents pick your name?It was between Ashley and Abby. And my mom said that when I was born, I didn't look like an Abby so Ashley Rose it was :)
{seven} what’s the one thing that scares you more than anything?Snakes. Period.

{eight} are you a good cook?I think I am! I love cooking, especially for others, so I am excited to cook more for the new bf! 
{nine} where do you see yourself in 20 years?Married, with at least 2 kids loving life.   {ten} what’s your best childhood memory?Camping with my cousins during the summer. We used to ride our bikes, fish, swim. It was the best. Now we're older and don't see each other much and I miss them!

Coopers Hawk Winery

Over the weekend I was in Chicago visiting the boy and we decided to hit up a winery/restaurant that we had been to before, but decided to sit-down and eat, rather then do carry-out like the previous visit. 


I have been obsessed with Cooper's Hawk since the first visit because it had such a great atmosphere and the staff was so nice. And the wine we tasted was even better. AND they have a location that just opened up in Brookfield so now I can go whenever, not just when visiting the boy!

This second visit did not disappoint. We were lucky to find a spot in the lounge and not have to wait 45 minutes for a table. We started out with a chicken potsticker app but clearly by the photo I took I was more excited about the martini I was enjoying after a crazy busy work week!

The potstickers were delish, and so is their pretzel bread they bring you. Not as good as those crazy good butter rolls from Texas Roadhouse, but we'll save that for another post!

For dinner I had the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich and it was HUGE! Grilled chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, provolone cheese and avocado, topped with a yummy jalapeno mayo.  I only ate half and took the rest home :)

Ben had their Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich that looked amazing as well. I did not get a picture of that one though as Ben thought it was weird I was taking pictures of my food as it is..haha.


Definitely recommend trying this place out, especially if you're in IL or in WI. Great food and even better service!

This is a favorite candy of mine and I found a whole package of it in the freezer!!

 Its an Italian chocolate that's filled with milk. The milk is solid so it's not oozing out. Sounds kind of gross now that I described it, but its delicious! I was so excited when I found it that I ate 2 bars!

The nice thing about this candy is that they're individually wrapped so you can eat 1 bar or 5 if you wish. I am savoring them and highly suggest you try and find them - its worth it.

Fierce Foursome

Me & my besties were reunited for a little happy hour action at a local bar last night and I couldn't have been more happier!

We call ourselves the 'Fierce Foursome' and have been best friends for the last 5+ years. We've been through so much together that I couldn't imagine my life without these girls! The happy hour was much needed and it was a great start to my weekend!

Bye Bye Straightner

This morning I was up and at 'em, had a great work out and was watching Regis & Kelly (which I rarely get to do & I think they're hilar) when I had a huge upset. I was half way through straightening my hair when my straightener just turned off. So I thought maybe I had hit the on/off switch so I turned it back on. Well, to my dismay that was not the problem. It kept shutting off every few minutes and it was pretty annoying. Need-less-to-say, my hair is straightened, but theres still a few kinks :( 

I LOVED my straightener too.. my lovely red straightener...

So my question to you is:

          -Do you have any recommendations?
-What straightener do you use?

-Do you love it? 

I don't know if I am willing to buy one that's $50+, especially if I've never used it but if you swear by it, I may have to give it a try!

I will be buying a straightener over the weekend because I can't imagine living without one so you're suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Rivals

MTV has done it once again. They've sucked me into another 8 weeks of Real World/Road Rules Challenge competition. This time they actually did a twist that's worth mentioning. Rivals.

There are 14 teams, and each member is teamed up with someone that has been their known rival. Anyone who has ever watched any of the past recent challenges knows that Kenny and Wes hate each other with a passion and now they are teammates!! Its so juicy I can hardly wait for Wednesday nights! Other favorite rivals include CT & Adam and Evelyn & Paula.


I must also mention, that even though all of these teams have had altercations, only about 4 are true rivals and can't stand each other. It just makes for an interesting season because everyone's on their own pretty much. Its anyones game to because all the strong members aren't on a team. Just can't wait to see how this pans out!

Its Britney B*tch!

I am a little late with post considering how excited I was about going to the Britney Spears concert at Summerfest last weekend - but let me tell you it was amazzzingggg.

She is a phenomnial dancer and performer that I am so sad I waited the last 12 years to finally see her in concert! The music was a good variety of her new stuff from the Femme Fatale CD as well as old favorites like Hit Me Baby One More Time! 

Nicki Minaj was an awesome opening act. I was disappointed in myself because I knew none of her songs, just the ones that she has done with other artists. None the less, it was a great performance and her back up dancers were crazy good! 


I sadly also do not have any (what I would call) decent pictures from the concert. We had relatively good seats, but my camera sucks at life and most of the pictures are blurry. Once my friends post them on Facebook, I'll borrow some and show you!

Harry Potter 7

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out on Friday @ midnight! I am very excited for the final installment of the HP books in movies, however I will not be at the midnight showing :(

Remember when I wanted to read all the HP books in a row again? Well, I'm still on the beginning chapters of the 5th book... So obviously my plan to read all 7 before the final movie came out was a bust. I am however, waiting to see the movie until I've read them all. Life has been so busy with my new job and all the fun summer things to do in Milwaukee. My new goal is to finish the last 3 books before Thanksgiving. I realize thats 4 months away, but the HP books are so big! Plus I think 4 months to finish 3 books is pretty reasonable. 

So all you wizards & witches out there enjoy the final chapter but don't give anything away! haha  

The Glee Project

So I am a HUGE fan of Glee and am obsessed with The Glee Project on Oxygen. Its a reality TV show that takes 12 contestants who compete weekly in challenges that have to do with singing and dancing for a 7 episode role on Glee. Ohhhh, the excitement!

Of the 12 contestants, 8 are left as of last nights episode. Its taken me the last 4 wks to come up with who I ultimately want to win and I finally made a decision.....

I want Matheus to win.

He's such a little cute with his awesome dance moves & funny personality. He has been in the bottom 3 twice now but he has also won 2 of the homework challenges so he's been kinda all over the place but I've made my decision and I'm sticking with it!

I also like the face that the contestants get to meet the cast and crew of Glee every week. Its nice to put a face to who the choreographer is, voice coach and producers. Being behind the scenes is always more fun anyways!

The Glee Project is an awesome summer substitute for Glee and I can't wait to see who wins so I can eagerly await their appearance and character next season!
