Coopers Hawk Winery

Over the weekend I was in Chicago visiting the boy and we decided to hit up a winery/restaurant that we had been to before, but decided to sit-down and eat, rather then do carry-out like the previous visit. 


I have been obsessed with Cooper's Hawk since the first visit because it had such a great atmosphere and the staff was so nice. And the wine we tasted was even better. AND they have a location that just opened up in Brookfield so now I can go whenever, not just when visiting the boy!

This second visit did not disappoint. We were lucky to find a spot in the lounge and not have to wait 45 minutes for a table. We started out with a chicken potsticker app but clearly by the photo I took I was more excited about the martini I was enjoying after a crazy busy work week!

The potstickers were delish, and so is their pretzel bread they bring you. Not as good as those crazy good butter rolls from Texas Roadhouse, but we'll save that for another post!

For dinner I had the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich and it was HUGE! Grilled chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, provolone cheese and avocado, topped with a yummy jalapeno mayo.  I only ate half and took the rest home :)

Ben had their Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich that looked amazing as well. I did not get a picture of that one though as Ben thought it was weird I was taking pictures of my food as it is..haha.


Definitely recommend trying this place out, especially if you're in IL or in WI. Great food and even better service!

Its Britney B*tch!

I am a little late with post considering how excited I was about going to the Britney Spears concert at Summerfest last weekend - but let me tell you it was amazzzingggg.

She is a phenomnial dancer and performer that I am so sad I waited the last 12 years to finally see her in concert! The music was a good variety of her new stuff from the Femme Fatale CD as well as old favorites like Hit Me Baby One More Time! 

Nicki Minaj was an awesome opening act. I was disappointed in myself because I knew none of her songs, just the ones that she has done with other artists. None the less, it was a great performance and her back up dancers were crazy good! 


I sadly also do not have any (what I would call) decent pictures from the concert. We had relatively good seats, but my camera sucks at life and most of the pictures are blurry. Once my friends post them on Facebook, I'll borrow some and show you!

Independence Day

I spent America's best holiday with my family and my new beau's family, enjoying the gorgeous weather Milwaukee got :)

4th of July is the staple holiday for BBQs, picnics and families getting together. The grill has something delicious on it and I always happen to have a cocktail in my hand. Over the weekend, I had marinated chicken, hamburgers, coleslaw, caprese salad, banana split, Saz's mozzarella sticks, cake, ice cream sandwiches, fruit salad and a whole lot more I just won't mention. I also didn't eat this all in one sitting, but none the less, it was all delish!

Fireworks are my favorite part of this holiday. Below is a picture someone posted on Flickr of the fireworks show over the harbor from out on Lake Michigan.

I am actually lucky enough I can see the fireworks on the lake front from my apartment, but for 4th of July the beau & I went to a friends house on the lake in Whitefish Bay & watched them from their backyard. 

Thankfully I was smart enough to take today off so I could relax a little bit more and spend some time with the boy before he heads back to Chicago.

Tim McGraw

I got invited to attend the Tim McGraw concert last night and it was amazing! He was in Milwaukee doing a special show for the sponsors of a car show being held here this weekend.

What an amazing performer he is! And man, I forgot what a gorgeous man he is!

The best part about the concert was the array of songs Tim sang. I felt like I knew all of them and loudly sang along with the crowd! It was a great random way to spend a Thursday night listening to one of Country's best artists! 

Hold It Against Me

I am fiercely excited to announce that I'm going to the Britney Spears concert in July!!!
AHHH!!! I couldn't be more excited!

Not only has she been one of my favorite singers since I knew what pop culture
was but she's an amazing performer [or so I'm told by people who have seen her
before]! And I'm also pretty sure I know every one of her songs by
heart... I have every CD.

Summer Weddings

Summer is a popular time for weddings and I am so excited for all the ones I am going to!

 I am grateful to be a part of my best friends wedding next month as a bridesmaid and its getting down to the wire - I still need to find shoes [in silver if you happen to know any good websites!]. I am excited to be involved in their special day because I have known this couple for many years now and I am so happy for them. I am also a little anxious/nervous because this is the first wedding for my group of friends and it included many people from high school whom I haven't seen in awhile. But it also means catching up with old friends which I am looking forward to. 

We're getting down to only twenty-some days until so I need to get some silver shoes, lose another 5lbs and put my dancing shoes on! Feels like I've been waiting for this day forever, helping her plan and its finally here! Pics of wedding and bachelorette party to come - they'll be too good not to post!
